Privacy is our priority at therappai (“we,” “us,” “our”). We understand that you may be sharing sensitive and personal information while using our services, and we take that responsibility seriously.

HIPAA (US Context): Therappai is not a HIPAA-covered entity. Conversations with the AI are not considered Protected Health Information (PHI). If we integrate with licensed healthcare providers in the future, we will update this Policy.
Artificial Intelligence Processing
therappai uses artificial intelligence technologies to support certain features including:

4. Mental Health Support and Safety Disclaimer
therappai is designed to provide tools that support emotional wellbeing, reflection, and mental wellness.
therappai is not a medical service, healthcare provider, or crisis intervention service, and the Service is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any mental health condition.
The therappai platform should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
If you are experiencing severe distress, suicidal thoughts, or a mental health emergency, you should seek immediate help from a qualified healthcare professional or local emergency services.
therappai may provide suggestions or links to external support resources where appropriate, however therappai does not monitor user activity for emergencies and cannot provide real-time crisis intervention.
5. Crisis Buddy Feature
therappai includes an optional feature called Crisis Buddy that allows users to store contact information for trusted individuals.
If enabled, therappai may store:

This information is used only when the user chooses to activate the feature.
therappai does not automatically detect or monitor mental health crises.
6. Third-Party Services and Subprocessors
To operate the therappai platform we rely on trusted third-party providers that support infrastructure, artificial intelligence functionality, and subscription management.
These providers may process limited information on our behalf to deliver the Service.
All subprocessors are required to maintain appropriate confidentiality, security, and data protection standards.

Artificial Intelligence Providers
OpenAI
therappai may use services provided by OpenAI to generate AI-powered conversational responses and wellbeing insights.
Information submitted during AI interactions may be processed by OpenAI systems in order to generate responses.
therappai does not permit OpenAI or other AI providers to use user conversations to train public AI models.
HeyGen
therappai may use HeyGen technology to generate AI video avatar responses within the application.
Prompts or content required to render avatar interactions may be processed by HeyGen infrastructure.
Platform Infrastructure
Google Cloud
therappai uses Google Cloud to host application infrastructure, databases, and encrypted data storage.
User information may be securely stored and processed within Google Cloud infrastructure in order to operate the therappai platform.
Google Cloud maintains industry-standard security certifications designed to protect customer data.
Subscription and Billing Providers
RevenueCat
RevenueCat is used to manage in-app subscription infrastructure across mobile platforms.
RevenueCat processes subscription status and purchase information but does not receive mental wellbeing conversation data.
Apple App Store
Subscriptions purchased through iOS devices are processed through Apple’s App Store billing system.
Google Play Store
Subscriptions purchased through Android devices are processed through Google Play billing infrastructure.
Subprocessor Updates
therappai may update its subprocessors as infrastructure and services evolve.
